Day rates vary from role to role as they are set by schools when they are posting a job. You also set your own preferred minimum daily rate in the app [Profile > Day rate]. When they post a job, the school will set the day rate they want to offer. If the advertised rate is near or above your the minimum you have set, and you meet the other criteria the school requires, then you will appear in the school's search results list of available teachers.

Ultimately, schools control the daily rate they offer for the job. However, our platform enables schools to connect with many teachers in a very efficient way, so schools save money and are able to pay you more. Teachers working through Teacher Booker typically earn at least 15-30% more than they do when working via a supply agency.

Remember, when setting your preferred rate, don't price yourself too low but don't go too high, or you may not be matched to jobs. If you need help deciding your preferred daily rate, see NEU union's guide here (external site) and the NASUWT union's guide, which we've included in our help centre here.
