During our vetting process, we carry out a DBS Update Service check.
We run these checks at the beginning of the vetting process and, thereafter, annually to ensure they are up to date.
To ensure we carry out our checks correctly, it would be helpful if all the information below is entered correctly and as early as possible during the application process.
Surname
Please ensure it is spelled correctly when entered into your profile.
Date of Birth
When you enter your date of birth, please ensure you enter the correct digits in the correct order i.e. day/month/year. It should follow the format of _ _/_ _/_ _ _ _. So, for example, if you were born on the 9th December 1968, you would enter 09/12/1968
DBS certificate number
In your profile, there is a section for you to add the status of your DBS
If you click on the drop-down menu, you will see the following options:
Choose the option that is specific to you.
Click on ‘I do not have a current DBS certificate’ if:
you are NOT on the DBS Update Service
you DO NOT have an Enhanced DBS certificate issued within the last 12 months
At this stage, a member of our Compliance Team will be in touch to advise you on the next steps.
Click on ‘Paper copy’ if:
you are NOT on the DBS Update Service
you DO have an Enhanced DBS certificate issued within the last 12 months.
This is the certificate you should upload to your profile for vetting.
Click on ‘Paper copy and Update service’ if:
You ARE on the DBS Update Service
You DO have an Enhanced DBS certificate (it may have been issued longer than 12 months ago, depending on when you signed up to the Update Service).
Please upload this certificate to your profile for vetting.
If you have chosen either the second or third options, please add the certificate number, which you will find in the top right hand corner of your certificate, to the section DBS/PVG number.
Please DO NOT upload a basic DBS Certificate or number as we cannot accept anything less than an Enhanced Certificate.
