This guide will show you how to add a website shortcut to your home screen for quick access, just like an app.

Adding a Website Icon to the Home Screen on iOS (Apple Devices)

Open Safari

  • Start by opening the Safari browser on your iPhone or iPad (other browsers do not support this feature on iOS).

Go to the Website

  • Enter the URL of the website you want to add to your home screen and navigate to it.

Open the Share Menu

  • Tap the Share icon (a square with an upward arrow) at the bottom of the screen.

Select “Add to Home Screen”

  • In the share options, scroll down and select Add to Home Screen.

Name the Icon

  • You can edit the name that will appear under the icon on your home screen. Enter a name that helps you identify the website.

Add the Icon

  • Tap Add in the top-right corner. The icon will now appear on your home screen, ready for quick access to the website.


Adding a Website Icon to the Home Screen on Android Devices

Open Your Browser

  • Open Google Chrome or another browser that supports this feature on your Android device.

Go to the Website

  • Enter the URL of the website you want to add and navigate to it.

Open the Menu

  • Tap the Menu icon (three dots) in the top-right corner of the screen.

Select “Add to Home Screen”

  • In the menu options, select Add to Home Screen.

Name the Icon

  • You can edit the name that will appear under the icon on your home screen. Enter a descriptive name for easy identification.

Add the Icon

  • Tap Add or Add Automatically. Depending on your device, you may also have the option to drag the icon manually to the desired spot on your home screen.
